Welcome to my life - 10 things about me...

I've just thought.. I need to introduce myself to you... so maybe the best way to do that is to tell you 10 things about myself so that you can get the picture

1. I was born in England but now live in Dominica, West Indies. For many people, it's the other way around. The Caribbean's biggest export is people. I have lived here for nearly 2 years now. And before that I lived on another island for over 2 years.

2. I lived in San Francisco for 1 year and then Los Angeles for 18 months when I was an au-pair / nanny. That was when I was 18 - 21 and I had a blast. Instead of going to university, I did the university of life. I do love children, but have decided not to make any myself yet.

3. I live in a fishing village with my boyfriend, who I met here, and we have a happy time - with the odd up and down just to keep things 'real'.

4. I never really learnt how to cook good European style food, as I had such a hectic career that I used to eat a lot of readymeals. Now it seems that all I can cook is Caribbean style food.. and that is all that my boyfriend likes.. so that is probably is the biggest factor in it!

5. I love to read books, they aren't so easy to come by here in Dominica, but I do go the library sometimes. And when I visit England, I fill my suitcase up with them. The quirkier the better..

6. I've flown on Concorde, been on a huge hovercraft, been under the channel tunnel, flown over NYC in a helicopter, sailed across the atlantic on a yacht (which I don't ever fancy doing again.. so please don't invite me to come!) and now I'd be quite happy not to fly anymore.. but a bit difficult to get around when you live on an island..

7. I don't own a TV.. but you don't need one once you've got a computer. It's all the entertainment that I need and has been for about 4 years now. If I want to watch TV, I can do it on my computer.. and when the ads are on .. I can play scrabble or check out what the celebs are up to. I LOVE MY COMPUTER!

8. Once or twice I've had strangers come to my house to stay for a few days from Couchsurfer. It's such a random way to make new friends, and you can go to stay in people's houses for free... accomodation cost is so much of travelling that it makes so much more possible with that as an option.

9. I love positivity in all things.. and my mother is sometimes annoyed with me for being 'overly optimistic' and yes.. it's got me into real big trouble before...but what is life without hope and faith - have to use it or lose it!

10. I'm a great believer in natural healing (especially being on this island as so many people know about how to heal with herbs and teas from the nature) and I know that garlic is one of the best ! Also tea tree oil... they are both powerful antiseptics and can really sort out any infections or trouble that you might have and fast too..

11. And one more for luck... maybe you're wondering how I can be an authority on keeping your man.. well let me tell you, I've done a lot of research and I have been through quite a few experiences in my 40 years.. and I want to share that with others so that they don't have to go through all the same traumas that I had. We are on this planet to help each other.. and if we can't do that.. what kind of society do we live in. That's why I can't bear that 'I'll sue you' culture that has developed in the US and is on it's way to swamp Europe. That is bad for society! What kind of a world do we live in if we all have to be petrified that we might get sued any moment!

Now you know a bit more about me... we can get started on getting to the root of the matter.. keeping your man. Watch this space.
